...Cameron Highlands...
apr - We set off to out destination cameron highlands. Intend to have a relaxing and peaceful holiday before both of us gets busy for the coming week. Took a night coach at 9.45pm, which the driver or assistant didn't even check our tickets. Initially when we booked the bus tickets, the reception told us to alight at tapah Sri Maju 'main office', where we will be transported to C.Highland via a taxi. Early in the morning the bus make a stop at one of its main office at Ipoh. Unsure of the route, dearest went to ask the driver assistant if this is the main office that we should alight. Think he didn't really 100% understand ENGLISH and the moment he heard 'main office', he reply in a hash manner 'here lah, what you waiting', as if chasing us down the bus. So immediately after we alight, the coach drove off.. leaving us in a deserted main office at 5am. Seeing no taxi or mini-van to pick us up, we start to panick... and doubt if we alighted at the correct stop. Lucky thing was that the receptionist had provide us with a number to contact the taxi driver, and we manage make a call thru to ask the driver to pick us up at Ipoh.15 apr - We reached C.Highlands early in the morning and the hotel receptionist at Strawberry Park make an exception for us to book in early. After we unload our stuff, we followed one of the tour to the tourist site like Parit Waterfall and cactus valley. Conclusion of the tour: wasting $$ >> Spend $40ringgit per person to watch a short waterfall, maybe our expectation was too high??? Rest our afternoon at the hotel and had a early steamboat dinner. Dinner is quite cheap there.. could get a steamboat w 2 different soup for 2 at just $28 ringgit.
apr - We followed the countryside tour to visit the strawberries farm, butterflies/bees farm, tea garden, cactus/rose farm etc.. basically that's what C.Highland is about. Conclusion of the tour: Quite worth it, $25 per person and get to see almost everything of C.Highland. We spent the afternoon with one of the friendly taxi driver, whom brought us around the place such as jungle tour.. charging us for only $25 to bring us from a town to another and bringing us to see a greater waterfall, namely Robinson Waterfall. Had night street stall (pasar malam) food for dinner.
apr - We wanted to spend our time realising the place instead of having sumone to take us everywhere and watched us.. So we had tim sum at hotel Equatoria. After which, we make our last shopping trip at the street shops around the hotel. To our surprise, we saw one the the hotel receptionist staff in uniform helping out in one of the street stalls. Both dearest and I came up with this: C.Highland people knows how to multitask. Most of them seems to hold 2 or more jobs e.g. u never know this taxi drivers could be your tour guides, the next moment you might see him helping in the hotel. We had steamboat again for dinner then.
apr - Home Sweet Home!!!...
