...Every year.. New resolutions...
This year... i want to move on and prepare myself to quit in 2 yrs!!!
Just experienced another tormenting incident... betrayal.. scheming human mind... hypocrites..
Some of my peers may have already met this people.. some lucky ones in their whole life may never.. and it all depends on how one handles the situation..
4sector
1st sector.. we enjoyed new friendships - 1 manager, 2 supervisors, me and another girl.. we had meals together, chats, gossips, jokes, friendly smiles and exchanges.
2nd sector.. we had joiner B and she was fun.. she keeps joking abt herself being senior, old and not promoted.. she gave herself a nickname.. I joked along by calling her that nick ..we laugh about it together.. and unknowingly...i was perceived as being rude by a supervisor A. Still, we had meals, shop, and joke together..
3rd sector.. supervisor A took multiple food orders for the rest of the colleagues..out of her 'goodwill'.. but expected me to order the food.. when i did not find the numbers to contact the food caterers.. she took over, perhaps thinking that i rejected her with intention. She had to call the caterers twice because we have not had a location to send the bulk food orders.. but we wanted the caterers to prep the food first. So after the first call..i thought of getting an additional order, and i was a given a sacarstic response 'wah not shy ah.. still dare to add one more order ah??' she made it sounds jokingly, and so i took it lightly and apologised for the inconvenience and mentioned that if it's not possible, or too troublesome, then skip that order. She did order the additional upon the second call, which was to tell the caterer the location to send the food.
Then, we agreed to collect the food at level 3 because we didn't wan to create commotion in the lobby. But i was accused of being unhelpful, for not helping to carry the food up to level 3. But i thought we already had an agreement? if she needs help, she could have asked, instead of waiting or expecting the junior ones to offer/initiate, or to then get angry over it later just because nobody helps. I begin to think she actually needed our orders to create the minimum delivery and that's why she started taking everyones' order.. but expecting me to continue her 'extra mile'......
4th sector.. supervisor A gave instructions to serve customers coke with the whole can. She finished serving her side first and returned to galley. It was then i saw 2 customers on her side not served, and attended to them, whom both wanted coke. I was left with a last can and i splited the last can into two cups so that they don't have to wait. When she returned to the 2 customers with 2 opened cans of coke and realising they were served, she ran over to me and asked 'What was my instruction? Didn't i told u to give the whole can?? ' i replied 'yes.. but i'm left with a last can ... ' before i finished my sentence she interupted 'DO YOU UNDERSTAND INSTRUCTIONS!!' with fiery eyes. She returned to galley and i overheard she told the other colleague 'ask her to finish the open cans!' It was such a minor incident but she overreacted. And in the first place, she failed to communicate with me that she had already taken the customers' orders. And of course, it makes me upset and angry too. Then when she gave a 2nd instructions, i replied with unsatisfaction 'i have not clear the drink table yet' but thinking i might be offending her again, i added 'but gimme a minute, i will it now.' Upon hearing it.. she asked loudly 'Are u unhappy?' i denied, hoping it ends there..but she continued 'I can hear your tone and sensed that U ARE unhappy. Whether u are or not..ONLY YOU YOURSELF KNOWS! ' I was really clueless why she got so angry until she said 'When senior are nice to u.. u take them for granted!' it took me back to previous sectors.
After service, I confronted her. first she admit previous sector does affect her judgement of me but denied that all was the reason she got angry. But who will get so angry over a can of coke thing? and from there bring up stuff like that junior ones not respecting their seniors? i was upset and i teared..but she gave a remarked 'wah.. like that you cry? your tears has no value huh? You mean all this while nobody has ever treat you like this?...' We trashed it out though and agree we will not bring up to manager.
But end of the day, the manager stayed me and supervisor A back hoping we will talk things out, which we already have done so. I was taken aback. I felt so betrayed and unfair when the story was heard one-sided, and wad's more, twisted. The manager was only told that i reacted unhappily when i was given an instruction and the story was made in a way that i'm much in the wrong. The manager did not even ask for my side of story to her. I couldn't speak anymore for myself..I was overwhelmed with strong emotions of betrayal. I don't know why i felt that way.. perhaps i thought i gave myself and the supervisor a chance to trust each other but it was betrayed once again.
The girl of the same rank commented, 'why did you confront her? haiix... actually i think... you should know where you stand in this company..'. She knew something was amiss earlier..
Then few days later.. someone told me.. it was supervisor B, one from the same gang, who reported the incident to the manager.I felt relieved it wasn't supervisor A. .But yet another betrayal. What was her intention??
What i did.. was not wrong.. and what i did not do (sah ka/going the extra mile) was expected.. i felt so disgusted by the culture here.
