...back to complaint...

AT EDO, after boss left, everything was in a mess. People like ME argueing over job scope. The new manager was not interested in managment of staff and all he bothers was SALES. True enough, only after than that I realised that his intention was to prove his superior that he wants to make a difference.
Previsouly I mentioned newcomers from Cineleisure came to join us. Yet procedures were not communicate to them properly. Was especially pissed off when one of our own experienced collegue, who is working with them daily did not inform them what to do. Instead, she allow the newcomers to take up her intended role. Sounds more like a bully to me. That very day I will not forget. I confronted her and all the reasons she gave was, "I let them do what they want to do, since all of us can 'give and take', and we are willing to cover for each other and we are satisfied with our scope... blah blah blah.. We don't need managers to distribute the job, we can do it ourselves. We have been doing the same thing every day since mon to thur". I do not know why, but immediately my fury came and i raised my voice at her and said, "You 3 are not the only staff of this restaurant! I don't care how you work for the past mon to thur, but please draw the lines clear." At that time, I was feeling sooooo unfair for the newcomers. They don't even know they were being used and they have been covering others' scope. Maybe I have been over protective of boss's methods, and I just want everything to stay the same.
But what makes me angrier was what she said, "Anyway, I'm not doing closing duty, but i'm already helping out. Caleb was supposed to take over my shift, but i think until now he still doesn't know about it." In actual, she was scheduled for the closing shift, but she made a last minute request to our new manager, not to work for closing duties. Yet there was nobody covering her shift and she pinpointed a 3rd unknowing party. Again, I lost my temper and almost shouted this time round, "You ought to have the responsibility to look for someone to cover your shift. It's not for manager to find someone to take over your shift. And you still have the cheek to tell me Caleb does not know about extending his duties. Don't you intend to tell him now???" I was petty enough even for that extension of 30min closing shift, but I insist on my stand. After a series of arguement, where no one takes a step back, we finally quietened down and get back to our own work. Never did I expect, she went to back area and make a call to our new manager to inform him about our arguements. What's worst was, she only says half, or rather, one sided story, and my manager still thought i was making a bug fuss with his newcomers' work performance. Heartfelt desc for this collegue: BITCH!!#$&#%*!! I shared this story with some other closer collegues and I'm prepared for more stories ahead then. True enough, when the next day I came back work, she had been telling everyone the one-side story, saying that I made little reports to boss, to supervisors, to new manager and even to collegues. Well, I said what i think and I'm frank. She's unfortunate to have stab the WRONG person.
This incident still burns the rage in me... and i sworn to see her quit before me.. ahhhggggg...

...|ife changes again...

Felt demoralized by my own performance today. Bad day. I finally get to see new restaurant manager(RM). But I also end up crying on the first day seeing him.
The story comes like this: This cust happens to walk in and request for a sofa seat table. And when advice that there isn't any, he was quite pissed and sat at the counter unreluctantly. I suggested grn tea but end up forgotten the order. Only after 15min later, when i saw the customer's face turn irritated, then I realise my negligence and I rushed to served the tea grn. Refilling the grn tea pot with just boiled hot water, i fill two cups and served them immediately. Upon passing the cup to the customer's wife, I thought she was already holding to the cup, and so i let go, and the cup of HOT tea just fell onto her laps. I was really really VERY VERY guilty. Angry at myself for rushing everything, this was really the first time that such things happens. Was even more disappointed when i gave such performance and i called myself a senior there? Just feeling useless.. is this what i really wan to show on the first day meeting the new RM. seems like i've wasted the 2yrs of time & effort learning and yet committing to such a mistake. Although ppl says it's JUST an accident, I just feel really guilty and helpless, worst, the thought of it even more encourages me to quit, quIT , QUIT.
The head chef came to know abt the incident, footed the bill and asked me to apologised to the customer. I cried even harder. Couldn't believe what inconveniences I have caused on this day. I told him the idea of quitting immed, and this is wad he says: Don't get frightened by the incident. Learn from it. Don't try to avoid from the fact. Accept and be brave to FACE IT.
hAizZzZz.. true enough, BUT this is not an ordinary case where you break a glass and say sorry and just forget abt it. The cust will come back again, and imagine each time you see them, the guilt comes back. You might never know if they really forgive you.
Was really troubled lately by the collegues at UOB. People complaining here and there, stabbing each other at the back.. and collegues in EDO quitting, the strong politics in EDO due to changes in management..enough to make me crazy. And this incident came so in TIME to worsen the crisis.

At times when we get real disappointed, we thought of giving up EVERYTHING, letting go the heavy burden in your heart. BUT you can't never escape from the reality when comes to talk abt RESPONSIBILITY.

As a Libran, I'm really feeling unbalance. Just can't stay neutral at the moment. Just Hope everything will turn out better...

Reversed reverse psychology

Your Greatest Foe Is Yourself
Your Bestest Friend Is Your Competitor

...she left us afterall...

Another two weeks had passed. That goes to say I'm in UOB for 2 wks. Was assigned to UOB Yishun branch and being warned from headquarters that we shld not handle any cash without proper training, yet on my second day, my senior had already allowed me to do some simple transactions, saying that hands on experience will experience learn more. Learn quite some transaction operations on the first wk.
Unfortunately, the training which was scheduled on the sec wk was postponed and i'm being asked to observed again on the operations done by other CSOs. This wk is b.o.r.e.d. Nt much to learn, infact i shld say there wasn't time to learn. They were busy with their stuff and they didn't like the idea of "hands on experience". Can't be blame. It's their acct, their username and pwd. Hoping for the nxt wk's training.
As for things in Edo, sad, she has left us. On Wed, we "celebrated" her last day in Upper Thomson Edo Sushi as Manager. It was meant to be a farewell party and we wished her the best. All of us, the closer clicks cried. In our hearts and minds, She'll always be our manager, the one and only who played with us at work, who take very good care of us and cover for us if we have any difficulty in coming to work. Whom carried the responsibility to maintain the standard of UTSR. The only one who will take a further step to understand her servers. She's the only one whom taught me to take care of the restaurant, as if it's our own homeground. Without her, the place becomes an unfamiliar place.
Having joined the restaurant for 2years, she was the one who gave me greatest memories of UTSR. We played games and gave each other nicknames like the "mother pig", and all of us will be her piggies/piglets. We called each other Powerpuff girls: Buttercup, Blossom, Bubbles, Mojo Jojo. We called each other names like: Maria, Rosie, Chrysanthemum. We called her: 左是,右不是(Jos) etc etc. Now what's left is ourselves and some "intruders" from other outlets, whom keep saying "OUR way of working.. ...OUR ..". Working there become meaningless. No fun no communication. Guess I've intend to passed on the knowledge soon. Afterwhich if the situation there becomes better, i'll consider staying, else just quit and look for other companies.
